
Kim Sang Young, band Teardrop's bassist and a former automotive journalist, has passed away at the age of 41.
On October 21, Teardrop announced his death through their official social media account. The group wrote, "Our beloved Teardrop bassist Kim Sang Young left us this morning at far too young an age."
The post continued, "he was a friend who loved the band and music more than anyone else, and was full of passion. We cannot contain the heavy and sorrowful feelings in our hearts."
On the same day, Teardrop's leader, Kim Ho Se, also confirmed the news to Ilgan Sports, stating, "He had been battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. His condition worsened around three to four months ago. He passed away early this morning."
Despite receiving chemotherapy, Kim Sang Young reportedly continued participating in the production of Teardrop's full-length album, showing his unwavering dedication to music.
The late musician's funeral is being held in Special Room 1 at Seoul Red Cross Hospital. The funeral procession will take place on October 23 at 10 AM, and the burial will be at the Seoul City Crematorium.
