In light of their 10th anniversary since debut, GFriend appeared as guests on the January 10 broadcast of KBS2's 'The Seasons - Lee Young Ji's Rainbow'.
On this episode, GFriend opened their stage with a classic K-Pop hit, "Me Gustas Tu". The group also showcased a beautiful ballad version of "Rough" and wrapped up their appearance with "Seasons of Memories", their 10th anniversary album title track.
Regarding their decision to reunite on their 10th anniversary, the members revealed, "A group's 10th anniversary is very meaningful. I think all of us always had it in the back of our minds to celebrate the occasion, and that's how we reunited."
Host Lee Young Ji also asked the group, "It's publicly known that many news reports used the word disbandment to describe GFriend. But you said that this is not true?" To this, Sowon answered, "Yes, it's true that many news reports claimed that we had disbanded. But this is not true. In reality, it was that our contracts had expired. But it only took us 4 years to make another comeback. So we are not disbanded."
Finally, GFriend relayed to their fans, "While preparing for our comeback, we were also busy preparing for our concert, our Asia tour, and music program appearances. We wanted to meet our fans face to face as soon as possible, so we did not rest a single day. We hope that our efforts will please our fans. We always used to say, 'Did you wait long?', whenever we made a comeback, but this time, it was truly a long time. Nonetheless, you never changed and continued to support us. Thank you. We will repay our BUDDY, who made a difficult decision by being by our side."
GFriend's 10th anniversary album 'Season of Memories' was released on streaming platforms worldwide on January 6 KST. The physical version of the album is set for release on January 13 at 6 PM KST.
