South Korean shooting athlete Kim Ye Ji, who went viral globally during the 2024 Paris Olympics, collapsed during a press conference.
Kim Ye Ji, who recently won a silver medal in the 10m air pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, was holding a press conference at the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province General Shooting Range in Imsil County, Jeonbuk, on the morning of August 9, around 11 AM. During the press conference, Kim Ye Ji unexpectedly suffered convulsions and lost consciousness, leading to her collapse. Emergency services were promptly called, and CPR was administered at the scene.
Fortunately, Kim Ye Ji regained consciousness within 10 minutes.
An official from Imsil County reported that Kim's condition is being closely monitored at the hospital. It is believed that the sudden decline in her condition was due to the rigorous schedule she maintained before and after the Olympics.
Kim Yeji returned to South Korea on August 7, after securing a silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Châteauroux Shooting Centre in France on July 28. Her charismatic performance during the competition had previously garnered attention on social media.
