With the #MeToo Movement growing and continuing every single day in South Korea, many have gone to the streets for their rallies/demonstrations.
Many have noticed that the rallies included Girls' Generation's "Into the New World" as part of their movement, a song for them to feel empowered and create a new society where sexual harassment and assault will no longer occur anywhere.
This is not the first time in which the song has been used for a peaceful protest, desiring to change a certain aspect of the South Korean culture. For example, back in 2016, Ewha Women's University students used this particular song for their protest against the institution. Another instance can be retraced back to the 2016-2017 Presidential protests, also known as the Candlelight Struggle when the entire nation came together to call for former President Park Geun-Hye's resignation after the administration's political scandal broke out and caught the attention of the entire world.
Check out the video below as well as the original "Into the New World" MV.
