ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Tastefully Yours,' premiering today (May 12), has been making headlines even before its broadcast thanks to its top-tier casting of Kang Ha Neul and Go Min Si. The drama marks the first on-screen collaboration between the two actors and also serves as director Han Jun Hee’s first foray into the romance genre, heightening expectations from the start.

The first teaser for Your Taste, released about a month ago, has already surpassed 1.59 million views, signaling strong interest. Netizens have commented, “Kang Ha Neul and Go Min Si—what a combo! Perfect fit for a rom-com,” “I saw episodes 1 and 2 at the Jeonju International Film Festival. Time flew by. Seriously, you’ll regret missing this. It’s so good. I already watched it, but I’ll tune in again,” “It’s been a while since I found a drama worth watching. Nice!” “Great casting and fresh concept,” “I love both actors. So excited,” “Kang Ha Neul and Go Min Si are both trustworthy actors. Can’t wait,” “This casting deserves applause. Looking forward to 'Tastefully Yours',” “I’ve got a good feeling. Smells like a hit,” “Such a great combo!!!!” “Whoa, looks so fun. Can’t wait to watch,” and “Amazing, amazing. I’m counting the hours till the premiere.”

Set in a small restaurant in Jeonju, 'Tastefully Yours' is a romance drama that follows the growth and love story of two individuals with completely different philosophies about food. Written by Jung Soo Yoon and directed by Park Dan Hee, the drama also draws attention for having 'D.P.,' 'Coin Locker Girl,' and 'Weak Hero' director Han Jun Hee on board as creator.

The drama centers around Han Beom Woo (played by Kang Ha Neul), the second son of a major Korean food conglomerate and executive director of the fine dining restaurant “MOTO,” and Mo Yeon Joo (played by Go Min Si), a chef who runs a no-sign, single-table restaurant called “Jeongje” in Jeonju. Aiming to secure a triple-star rating from the “Diamant Guide” to win a succession battle, Han Beom Woo unexpectedly experiences a life-changing meal at the small Jeonju eatery.

Adding more charm to the show are Kim Shin Rok as Jin Myung Sook, the ace of Jeonju’s most popular gukbap (soup with rice) restaurant, and Yoo Soo Bin as Shin Chun Seung, the heir to that same restaurant.

After captivating audiences in Netflix’s 'Squid Game Season 2' and the film 'Yadang: The Snitch,' Kang Ha Neul now takes on the role of Han Beom Woo, a confident and materialistic chaebol (conglomerate heir). Though willing to use any means to achieve his goals, Han Beom Woo is also a sharp strategist with exceptional business acumen and intuition.

Describing the character, Kang Ha Neul said, “Just because he’s a chaebol doesn’t mean he has to have certain traits. I approached the role thinking, ‘What if I were a chaebol?’ and that made him more humorous and expressive.” He added, “Dramas that are overly spicy and provocative might be fun once, but not rewatchable. Your Taste is the kind that lingers. It’s the kind of flavor you keep thinking about.

Known for powerful performances in 'Sweet Home,' 'The Frog,' and the film 'Smugglers,' Go Min Si steps into her first romantic comedy with 'Tastefully Yours.' She plays Mo Yeon Joo, a fine dining chef who values the essence and sincerity of cooking, approaching food with deep philosophy and passion.

Popular for her sharp and competent image in 'Jinny’s Kitchen 2,' Go Min Si said, “My experience on Jinny’s Kitchen helped. During early filming, the Netflix show Black-and-White Chef was trending, so I referenced several chefs from that show.” She added, “It’s a story of four imperfect people who meet, fill in each other’s gaps, and grow together, bringing comfort and warmth.”

'Tastefully Yours' originated from a short script written by director Han Jun Hee, based on his experience working as a staff member in Jeonju 15 years ago. That original idea was later expanded into a full-length drama by writer Jung Soo Yoon and director Park Dan Hee.

Director Han said, “This project is personally special to me because it’s rooted in my memories of working in Jeonju 15 years ago. While it may seem different from my past works, it’s similar in that it tells a story about young people coming together to achieve something.”

Director Park Dan Hee shared, “When I first read the original script, I thought, ‘This feels warm.’ I wanted to capture the cozy charm of beloved eateries and the lovable qualities of restaurant owners.

Kim Shin Rok described the drama as “like Jeonju-style mul-jjajang (cold broth black bean noodles).” She explained, “You think you know the taste, but it surprises you. It’s familiar yet new. The chemistry between characters, centered around food, is one of the show’s biggest highlights.”

Yoo Soo Bin said, “It’s a heartwarming series you can enjoy with friends and family, sharing laughs and comfort. It’s a rom-com, chemistry haven, comedy gold. All in one triple-star dish. I hope it fills your emotional hunger.

Writer Jung Soo Yoon added, “From seopsanjeok (royal meat patties) to coq au vin (French wine-braised chicken), each episode features a food parade that’s a visual feast. You’ll definitely crave a midnight snack.” She also noted, “As you watch, someone close to you might come to mind.

Meanwhile, 'Tastefully Yours' premiered on May 12 at 10 PM KST on ENA and will be available for free streaming immediately after on KT Genie TV and Genie TV Mobile.
