Rapper San E is facing new legal issues after being accused of trespassing and concealing property belonging to an artist under his own label.

On May 12, Xports News reported that Chinese artist Reta, who is signed to San E’s hip-hop label, FameUs Entertainment, filed a criminal complaint in March against San E and a company associate identified as Mr. Jung. The complaint accuses them of joint trespassing and joint concealment of property.

According to the report, San E allegedly instructed Mr. Jung and others to enter Reta’s residence and remove or dispose of her furniture and personal belongings while she was in China due to visa issues. Reta claims she never shared her door code and that the entry and removal happened without her consent. Based on this, she filed charges against San E and Mr. Jung for unlawful entry and interference with personal property.

This latest case comes on the heels of a previous controversy involving San E in 2023, when he was investigated for aggravated assault. On July 28, around 8:30 p.m., he allegedly assaulted a passerby (identified as Mr. B) at a park entrance in Mapo-gu, Seoul. The incident reportedly began after San E told Mr. B to “walk your bike properly”, followed by hitting him in the face with a mobile phone. Mr. B sustained injuries near his eye and suffered dental damage.

San E’s father, Mr. A, was also investigated for assaulting Mr. B and his companion. However, because Mr. B was also booked for mutual assault and later declined to press charges, the case was ultimately dismissed under South Korea’s conditional non-prosecution rule.

Despite this, because Mr. B’s injuries were medically confirmed, San E was transferred to the prosecution this past January without detention. His legal team expressed regret, stating, “Though I should have issued a public apology sooner, I want to meet the victim in person to seek forgiveness. I sincerely apologize to everyone who was disappointed.”

His attorneys added they would cooperate fully and pursue compensation for the victim. In March, the Seoul Western District Prosecutor’s Office issued a deferred indictment, effectively closing the case.

However, just as the previous matter was resolved, San E is now under police investigation once again. He and Mr. Jung are scheduled for questioning in June. As of now, San E has not released an official statement regarding the new allegations.
