Hyungwon will be discharged from the military on May 13 KST, completing his service in the Army Band after enlisting in November 2023, approximately a year and six months ago.
He is the fifth MONSTA X member to complete his military service, following Shownu, Minhyuk, Jooheon, and Kihyun. The youngest member, I.M, has not enlisted yet.
Hyungwon’s discharge holds special significance as it falls on the day before MONSTA X’s 10th debut anniversary. To mark the occasion, MONSTA X will release a digital album titled ‘NOW PROJECT vol.1’ on May 14 through various music platforms.
The album will include a total of 10 tracks, featuring both title and side tracks released between 2021 and 2023. As part of their 10th-anniversary celebration, the group plans to present these songs anew with all six members’ voices, offering a meaningful gift to their fanbase Monbebe, especially considering that some members were absent from the original recordings due to military service.
