In a twist that delighted fans, Choi Daniel and Hwang Jung Eum’s characters, Jihoon and Jungeum, from the MBC sitcom 'High Kick Through the Roof' ended up happily married with a daughter. This happy ending plays out in a newly released advertisement that borrows from the show's universe.
On May 12, nutrition brand Nucare unveiled a new commercial that expands the world of 'High Kick.' The ad is set 15 years after the show’s finale on March 19, 2010.
The video captures attention by showing the main cast of 'High Kick,' including Jung Bo Seok, Oh Hyun Kyung, Jin Ji Hee, Seo Shin Ae, Julien Kang, Hwang Jung Eum, and Choi Daniel, gathered in a living room in 2010, then seamlessly transitioning to their present-day selves.
The ad highlights the unchanged charm of Jung Bo Seok and Oh Hyun Kyung, and the now-grown Jin Ji Hee and Seo Shin Ae, who have blossomed into lovely young women. Nostalgia is heightened by Kim Jo Han’s rendition of the show’s original ending theme.
But what truly grabs viewers is the surprise twist: Choi Daniel’s character, Jihoon, who had met a tragic end alongside Shin Se Kyung in the original series, has instead survived, married his love interest Hwang Jung Eum, and now has an adorable daughter.
After seeing the smiling couple with their child, fans were quick to respond with enthusiasm, commenting, “This is my real ending,” “I can’t believe how the High Kick family has changed,” "Who planned this?
