The TVING original series ‘Yumi’s Cells’ will return for season 3, once again starring Kim Go Eun.
‘Yumi’s Cells 3’ tells the story of Yumi (played by Kim Go Eun), who returns as a star writer, and her ever-devoted brain cells as they continue to grow and love. The series is a romance that touches the heart by stimulating both emotion and imagination.
Based on the legendary Naver Webtoon by Lee Dong Geun, ‘Yumi’s Cells’ received massive love for its unique blend of realism and creativity, portraying Yumi’s everyday life and inner thoughts through the personified “cells” in her brain. The groundbreaking combination of live action and 3D animation was praised as an evolution in drama formats. Cleverly directed scenes weaving Yumi’s real-world experiences with the whimsical village of her cells captivated viewers with a new level of emotional resonance.
Following the sensational popularity of seasons 1 and 2, which aired three years ago, expectations are high for the long-awaited season 3.
Returning to lead the project are trusted director Lee Sang Yeob and writers Song Jae Jung and Kim Kyung Ran, the creative team behind the previous seasons. Above all, Kim Go Eun’s return as Yumi is generating the most excitement. Her portrayal of Yumi was so compelling that it’s hard to imagine anyone else in the role. ‘Yumi’s Cells Season 3’ is slated for release in the first half of 2026 exclusively on TVING.
