Taeyeon drew attention after personally purchasing 330,000 KRW(~220 USD) worth of pajamas, revealing a mix of pride and bittersweet emotions.
On April 6 KST, a new video titled "Taenglog in Tokyo (feat. Pingu x Taenggeu)" was uploaded to Taeyeon’s YouTube channel, capturing moments from her trip to Tokyo, Japan. The vlog marked her first solo trip in 19 years since debut, showcasing both excitement and nervousness.
One of the most talked about scenes took place at a Pingu x Taenggeu pop up store, where Taeyeon discovered Japan exclusive pajamas. Surprised, she exclaimed, “You can’t get this in Korea at all,” adding, “It’s going to disappear soon,” as she expressed disappointment.
The pajamas held particular meaning, as Taeyeon had participated in the product’s development process. Although multiple designs were initially planned, only one version was ultimately released, adding to her mixed emotions. She went on to purchase the items as gifts for three staff members, personally paying a total of 330,000 KRW, highlighting a relatable “self paid” moment.
After the purchase, she brought humor to the moment by reacting to a complimentary photo given only to buyers. Holding the photo, she joked, “My money, my photo,” smiling shyly as she looked at it.
Taeyeon also revisited a Taenggeu store in Shibuya for the first time in 10 years, where she signed a large poster displayed on the wall. Saying, “I’m the mother of this character,” she showed both pride and affection for the project.
Through the Tokyo trip, Taeyeon hinted at a growing interest in solo travel, with fans continuing to respond warmly to her candid and relatable moments shared in the vlog.
