A safety fence collapsed during a Super Junior concert, leaving three fans injured. Ryeowook and several members reportedly stayed by the victims’ side and even accompanied them to the hospital.
The incident occurred on April 5 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul during 'Super Junior 20th Anniversary Tour Super Show 10 - SJ Core in Seoul.' While performing the final encore stage, a safety fence installed near the audience seating by SM Entertainment suddenly gave way.
At the time, Ryeowook had approached the crowd to interact with fans. As the fence collapsed, three audience members fell forward toward him. Startled by the situation, Ryeowook immediately called for security personnel.
The injured fans were promptly taken to a hospital, where they underwent necessary treatment and examinations. Medical staff reportedly diagnosed them with sprains and bruises, advising approximately two weeks of rest and recovery.
According to one of the injured fans, Ryeowook and some members stayed with them throughout the ordeal. A fan from Taiwan shared, “Right after the accident, Ryeowook and Siwon came down immediately. Ryeowook and another member also came to check on our condition.”
The fan continued, “After being transferred from a nearby small hospital to a larger one, I thought they had all left. But it turns out Ryeowook stayed and waited the whole time. I really hope people know this.”
SM Entertainment issued an official apology, stating, “We sincerely apologize to those who were affected by this incident and their families. We will provide full support for treatment to ensure the injured make a complete recovery.”
The agency also pledged to prevent similar incidents in the future, adding, “As the concert organizer, we take full responsibility for this accident. We will strengthen safety inspections and audience protection measures to ensure this does not happen again.”
