JYP Entertainment’s boy group NEXZ is set to make their first comeback of 2026 with a new album.
On April 6 KST, NEXZ (Tomoya, Yu, Haru, So Geon, Seita, Hui, Yuki) released a trailer via their official social media channels, announcing the release of their new album ‘Mmchk’ on April 27.
The trailer presents a mysterious and surreal atmosphere, with each of the seven members immersed in their own distinct world within a single space. Haru carefully stacks a house of cards, Hui reads a book, So Geon examines a hamburger shaped jelly, Seita repeatedly tosses and catches chalk, Yuki switches a lamp on and off, Tomoya appears deep in thought, and Yu gently pets a black cat.
As a TV in the background plays a public service message about proper dining etiquette, the calm setting is suddenly disrupted. Yu makes a small movement, drawing attention from the others. The card structure collapses, chalk snaps in half, and the cat leaves his arms. Static fills the screen, and amid the noise, the album title ‘Mmchk’ appears, heightening intrigue.
The trailer highlights the contrasting personalities of the seven members while introducing an unexpected shift in tone, sparking curiosity about the group’s upcoming concept.
‘Mmchk,’ pronounced rhythmically as “um-chk,” carries a unique and unconventional charm. The release marks NEXZ’s return approximately six months after their mini album ‘Beat Boxer,’ which was released in October last year.
With all seven members known for their strong performance skills and diverse appeal, NEXZ continue to be recognized as one of JYP’s promising global acts. Anticipation is high for the new sides they will showcase with this comeback.
NEXZ’s new album ‘Mmchk’ will be released on April 27 at 6 PM.
