ILLIT has officially kicked off their comeback countdown, teasing a more evolved visual identity and expanded musical world.
On April 6 KST, the group (Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha) unveiled the promotion calendar for their fourth mini album ‘MAMIHLAPINATAPAI’ through their official social media channels, raising anticipation among fans.
According to the schedule, ILLIT will release concept photos for the ‘GRWM’ version on April 7, followed by the ‘FREE RIDER’ version on April 14. These come after the previously revealed ‘PAW PAW’ version, which drew attention for pairing each member with their look alike animals. The upcoming concepts are expected to showcase a striking new visual transformation.
The group will further build excitement with a highlight medley on April 21, offering a preview of the album’s tracks. Content related to the title track ‘It’s Me’ will follow, including a campaign film on April 23 and a dedicated concept photo version on April 24. Music video teasers will be released on April 27 and 28, leading up to the full album and music video drop on April 30 at 6 PM.
To celebrate the release, ILLIT will also host a special event, ‘ILLIT Seoul Children’s Grand Park Festival,’ on May 5. Centered around the title track ‘It’s Me,’ the festival will feature interactive booths and a live performance, creating an experience for both families and fans.
The promotion calendar image itself has drawn attention for its unexpected mood. A single rose placed inside a plastic bag contrasts with ILLIT’s previously cute and playful image, hinting at a more sophisticated and nuanced concept this time.
The upcoming album ‘MAMIHLAPINATAPAI’ explores the emotions that arise as relationships deepen, focusing on self awareness and embracing complex feelings. The title track ‘It’s Me’ captures the moment after a first date when uncertainty grows, delivering a bold message: “I’m your favorite.”
