Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi has begun the process of terminating his exclusive contract with his agency Big Planet Made Entertainment.
According to his legal representative on April 6, Lee Seung Gi notified the agency of contract termination in late March, citing a breach of contract. His side maintains that the termination has been carried out lawfully.
The decision is reportedly linked to issues surrounding unpaid staff expenses. Lee Seung Gi’s representatives stated that despite efforts to maintain trust amid various controversies and delayed settlement payments, problems arose regarding support for his activities and payments to staff and external partners.
They added that the termination was an unavoidable decision made to prevent further harm to on site staff who had not been properly compensated.
Lee Seung Gi is expected to continue his scheduled activities without disruption. He also expressed his intention to carry on with a strong sense of responsibility, ensuring that fans and staff are not disappointed.
Big Planet Made Entertainment, a label under One Hundred, has recently faced a series of reports regarding contract terminations involving multiple artists, including Taemin, THE BOYZ, VIVIZ, Lee Mujin, and BE’O. While the agency stated that discussions are ongoing depending on individual contract terms, the continued departures have raised concerns about overall trust within the label.
