INFINITE’s Sunggyu has officially returned after 2 years and 8 months with his 6th mini album ‘OFF THE MAP.’
Blending his signature emotional tone with rich band sounds, Sunggyu delivers a more mature and layered musical color. Speaking at a press interview in Seoul, he shared that promoting with INFINITE’s 15th anniversary made him feel a deeper sense of responsibility toward fans.
“Seeing so many fans still come to our concerts made me feel like I truly need to repay them,” he said. Now actively involved in planning concerts and running INFINITE Company, Sunggyu admitted that stepping into a producer role changed his perspective. “Production costs are no joke,” he laughed, adding that he now better understands the balance between artistic vision and business reality.

As INFINITE enters its 16th year, Sunggyu expressed pride in the group’s unity. “What I value most isn’t just our performances, but our willingness to stay together for so long,” he shared emotionally.
Beyond group and solo promotions, Sunggyu continues his musical theater career, recently taking on the role of L in ‘Death Note.’ Though he admitted feeling pressure, he said performing in musicals gives him a different kind of joy.
In closing, Sunggyu shared how he hopes to be remembered as a singer through his title track "When I Think About You." He said with a laugh, “Tablo once answered the question, ‘What kind of singer do you want to be remembered as?’ by saying, ‘I just hope people remember me at all.’ I really related to that.”
He continued, “If there’s something I hope for, it’s that one day someone can listen to my songs and feel comfort, sadness, or joy. Since I’ve been active for a long time, I hope my music can carry those kinds of emotions.”
Sunggyu added that he also hopes to be remembered as someone who lived diligently. “My albums keep stacking up, and so do my concerts. There were definitely times when I felt exhausted, but I think I’ve always pushed through and tried to live sincerely.”
Reflecting on his younger days, he shared, “When I was young, my goal was simple, to be successful enough to make a living doing what I love. Thankfully, I achieved that. Joining INFINITE itself was a huge blessing.”
Looking ahead, he concluded, “My next goal is to remain an artist who can still move people even as time passes, someone who can maintain the musical sensibility I felt during my prime and continue delivering that same emotion.”
Sunggyu’s ‘OFF THE MAP’ drops at 6 PM.
