BTS member V has once again proven his global influence, with his “VELVET RED” LP topping charts and selling out worldwide.
According to reports on March 17 KST, V’s vinyl version ranked No.1 in the vinyl category at Fnac, one of France’s largest retail chains. Meanwhile, group versions of the upcoming album 'Arirang'—including the B&W and Color Deluxe editions—also charted within the Top 10.
Set for release on March 20, BTS’s fifth full length album 'Arirang' began global pre orders in January, with individual member LP versions drawing strong demand. Among them, V’s “VELVET RED” version has recorded repeated sell outs across multiple regions.
The LP first sold out at major U.S. retailer Target and quickly went out of stock on Weverse US Shop upon restocking. In Japan, it became the only member version to enter both “Bestseller” and “Hot New Release” categories on Amazon Japan, while also selling out despite premium pricing on Rakuten and topping sales on Qoo10.
In Korea, the LP also ranked No.1 on weekly bestseller charts at Naver Store based on just one day of pre orders. Across markets including Korea, the United States, France, and Japan, the release has consistently achieved top pre order volumes and sold out status—solidifying what fans call the “V effect.”
BTS will release Arirang on March 20, followed by a comeback live performance at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21. The citywide project “BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL” will also take place across Seoul, further amplifying the group’s global comeback momentum.
