Rosé of BLACKPINK is drawing attention not only for maintaining her signature blonde hair for seven years, but also for her thoughtful gesture toward her longtime hairstylist.
On a recent episode of the YouTube channel 'Workers High', hairstylist Cha Cha (Cha Jong Hyun), who has worked with BLACKPINK, Sunmi, and (G)I-DLE, spoke about Rosé’s iconic blonde look.
He revealed that Rosé has maintained the color for seven years, touching up her roots every two weeks. Addressing concerns about scalp damage, he shared that her hair has remained in good condition, adding that Rosé is highly committed to preserving her public image.
According to Cha Cha, Rosé once told him that how she appears to the public matters more to her than concerns about hair and scalp health, showcasing her strong sense of professionalism. He also expressed confidence in his own bleaching techniques, noting that while products may be similar, his personal recipe minimizes damage and uneven tones.
The hairstylist went on to describe his intense overseas schedule. When Rosé is in cities like Los Angeles or Paris, he often flies out for same-day appointments — arriving in the morning, spending three to four hours on bleaching and coloring, then returning to Korea on an evening flight. With travel times sometimes exceeding 12 hours each way, he admitted the physical toll has been significant, even sharing that he experienced hip and tailbone issues after a Paris trip.
While he was concerning the strain on his health, Rosé reportedly arranged a business class seat for him for one of the trips. “Even chaebols (conglomerate) don’t do this,” he said, expressing gratitude for her consideration and adding that her thoughtfulness motivated him to work even harder.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK recently released their third mini album "DEADLINE". Rosé also made headlines after winning ‘International Song of the Year’ at the 46th BRIT Awards with her global hit “APT.” — marking a historic first for a K-pop artist at the prestigious UK ceremony.
