Stray Kids will greet viewers over the Lunar New Year holiday through a KBS variety special.
According to KBS on February 12 KST, the holiday special program ‘Soul Beam’ starring Stray Kids will air on February 16 at 8:10 PM on KBS 2TV.
‘Soul Beam’ is a fantasy-themed variety show built around the premise that Stray Kids time-slip back to the Joseon era due to an unknown force. In order to return to the present day, the members must complete extraordinary missions given by Joseon-era “Taoist masters.” The roles of these masters will be played by Lee Soo Geun and Jonathan.
The production team shared, “We reimagined key games from the 1990s variety show ‘Family Arcade’ with a 2026 sensibility. It will offer deep nostalgia for the parents’ generation and fresh fun for younger viewers.” They added that another viewing point will be seeing the “world star” group wearing comfortable hanbok instead of stage outfits while sincerely taking part in traditional Korean games.
Earlier, more than 10,000 people applied for the live audience recording of ‘Soul Beam’, for which only about 400 attendees were invited, highlighting Stray Kids’ popularity. The production team said the members continued to show fan service throughout the over 10-hour recording, frequently approaching the audience to make eye contact and shake hands.
‘Soul Beam’ is also set to air later in Japan, Taiwan, and Russia. The producers noted they had been receiving strong interest from overseas markets even before the broadcast and have confirmed sales of broadcasting rights in those regions.
