Broadcaster Park Na Rae stood before reporters after completing approximately seven and a half hours of police questioning.
At around 3 PM on February 20, Park Na Rae appeared at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul for her first round of questioning as a suspect on charges including special assault and alleged violations of the Medical Service Act. She had initially been scheduled to appear on February 12, before the Lunar New Year holiday, but the investigation was postponed once due to reported health issues.
At approximately 10:30 PM that evening, Park Na Rae emerged from the station looking somewhat fatigued after the lengthy investigation. Wearing glasses and a black coat, she faced reporters with a calm expression and answered questions.
When asked what she had clarified during the investigation, Park Na Rae responded, “I faithfully responded to the investigators’ questions and answered truthfully.” Regarding whether she acknowledged allegations of workplace abuse toward her manager, she stated, “I believe that is something that will be clarified through the investigation.”
Asked whether she had ever thrown a glass of alcohol at her manager, she said, “I cooperated fully with today’s investigation, and I plan to correct any parts that are not true,” before bowing her head and adding, “I sincerely apologize once again for causing concern due to these uncomfortable matters.”
When questioned about whether she believed her former managers were lying, she replied cautiously, “That is something that will be revealed through the investigation.” Asked if she had anything to say to the former managers with whom she is currently in a legal dispute, she briefly answered, “No.”
She did not provide specific responses regarding allegations that she registered her mother and former boyfriend as agency employees and paid them salaries, the reason for postponing her initial summons, or suspicions of illegal drug use.
Previously, Park Na Rae’s former managers filed complaints at the Gangnam Police Station, alleging workplace harassment, verbal abuse, unpaid business expenses, and proxy medical prescriptions. They accused her of special assault, defamation by false information, and violations of the Information and Communications Network Act.
In response, Park Na Rae has also filed complaints against her former managers at the Yongsan Police Station on charges including attempted extortion and occupational embezzlement. Authorities have reportedly received a total of eight related cases: six at the Gangnam Police Station and two at the Yongsan Police Station.
