It has been confirmed that i-dle's Miyeon purchased a luxury residential unit in Seoul’s Yongsan district for 5.05 billion KRW (approximately 3.8 million USD), reportedly paying the full amount in cash.
According to official property registry records on February 20, Miyeon signed a contract on February 3 to acquire a 135㎡ unit (17th floor) at Yongsan Central Park, located in Hangangno 3-ga, Yongsan-gu. She completed the balance payment on February 12 and finalized the ownership transfer shortly thereafter. No mortgage was registered on the deed, indicating that the transaction was carried out without a bank loan.
The purchase marks a new record-high price for that unit size. The previous highest recorded transaction for the same floor plan was 4.3 billion KRW (about 3.23 million USD) for a 28th-floor unit sold on April 20, 2024. Completed in 2017, Yongsan Central Park is a mixed-use residential complex situated near Yongsan Station, which serves Subway Lines 1 and 4 as well as KTX trains. The development consists of five buildings reaching up to 43 floors, with a total of 1,140 residential units combining apartments, officetels, and commercial facilities. The property is known for its rare views overlooking both the Han River and Yongsan Park.
The site was previously part of the Yongsan International Building District 4 redevelopment project. The project initially received approval in 2007 but was halted in January 2010 after a court ruling invalidated its management disposition plan due to procedural issues and documentation flaws. During the forced demolition process, the tragic Yongsan fire incident occurred, resulting in the deaths of five displaced residents and one police officer amid protests over compensation disputes. The site remained vacant for an extended period before redevelopment resumed under a newly selected construction company.
After Hyosung Heavy Industries was appointed as the new contractor, the project restarted in 2016, with sales launching in June 2017. At the time, the average pre-sale price was 36.3 million KRW (about 27,225 USD) per 3.3㎡, drawing controversy over high pricing. However, all units were sold without remaining inventory. Current market prices are reported to be more than double the original pre-sale values.
Since its completion, the complex has established itself as one of the most prominent residential developments near Yongsan Station, benefiting from expectations surrounding the Yongsan International Business District and Yongsan Park projects. Industry sources previously reported that BLACKPINK members Jisoo and Lisa resided in the complex before relocating to Hannam The Hill in Hannam-dong and a detached home in Seongbuk-dong, respectively.
Miyeon’s group, i-dle, debuted on May 2, 2018, under Cube Entertainment. The five-member multinational girl group recently made a comeback in February with the digital single “Mono.” The group achieved first place on Mnet’s 'M Countdown,' KBS2’s 'Music Bank' on February 6, and SBS’s 'Inkigayo' on February 8, earning a triple crown. This marks the first time i-dle has topped a terrestrial music broadcast program with a digital single.
