BigBang’s G-Dragon captivated audiences in Paris through a charity gala performance, reaffirming his status as a global artist.

On January 30, French public broadcaster France 2 released footage of the 'Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes' charity event held on January 22 at Paris’ La Défense Arena.

G-Dragon, the only Korean artist invited this year following his appearance last year, received an enthusiastic response from the French audience.

The performance carried special significance as it was a personal invitation from Brigitte Macron, First Lady of France and chairperson of the hospital foundation. G-Dragon took the stage alongside global artists including Christina Aguilera, A$AP Rocky, and Future, closing the event with the grand finale.

France 2
described G-Dragon as “a K-pop legend and a border-breaking artist,” highlighting his performance as the day’s standout moment. His collaboration with ballerina Aurélie Dupont of the Paris Opera Ballet and French hip-hop dance duo Les Twins, known for choreographing for Beyoncé, was praised as “the most artistic moment combining music, hip-hop, and ballet.”

G-Dragon’s stage opened with “DRAMA,” accompanied by INTRO. Aurélie Dupont visually expressed the emotions of the music alongside G-Dragon’s controlled, deeply expressive live performance, drawing the audience into the stage naturally. Without excessive production, music and movement blended seamlessly, delivering a densely choreographed performance.

The following performance of “TOO BAD” shifted to a completely different energy. Les Twins opened the stage, and together with G-Dragon, improvised energetic sequences unfolded one after another. Known for rarely accepting other artists’ stage requests, Les Twins praised G-Dragon, saying, “He is a true artist. Our energy and freedom resonate,” explaining why they agreed to collaborate. The stage also included a “Lady Marmalade” arrangement, perfectly capturing Parisian flair.

G-Dragon’s styling also drew attention locally. He paired a blue Chanel custom jacket with a red scarf, evoking the colors of the French flag, and wore a specially crafted necklace, “Bandana Royal,” leaving a strong visual impression.

Following the broadcast, social media and local fan communities were flooded with responses like “Paris loves GD.” He was praised as “an artist who understands Parisian sensibilities” and “the K-pop artist who connects most naturally with French culture,” with the performance seen as a moment that cemented “GD as a genre” in the minds of the French public.

G-Dragon will hold his first solo fan meeting, '2026 G-DRAGON ‘FAM’ MEETING [FAM+ILY: FAMILY: FAM I LOVE YOU],' at Seoul’s KSPO DOME from February 6 to 8. He will then continue meeting global fans in Yokohama, Japan, and Bangkok, Thailand.
