The legal dispute between comedian Park Na Rae and her former managers is continuing to escalate, as one of the former managers has returned to South Korea.
According to a February 10 report by Ilgan Sports, former manager A returned to the country on February 9 and underwent a second round of questioning as a suspect at Yongsan Police Station in Seoul.
Previously, Park Na Rae filed complaints against her former managers, identified as A and B, on charges of attempted blackmail and occupational embezzlement. A had already undergone an initial round of police questioning related to the allegations.
On December 3 of last year, A and B applied for a provisional seizure of Park Na Rae’s real estate and announced plans to file a damages lawsuit against her. The two claimed that Park Na Rae committed various illegal acts, including special assault, workplace harassment, sexual harassment, proxy prescription, and delays in covering personal expenses.
In addition, the former managers filed criminal complaints against Park Na Rae at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul on charges of special assault, defamation by false information, and violations of the Information and Communications Network Act. They also accused her of using company funds for personal purposes, reporting her for embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
A later departed for the United States on December 22 last year. At the time, A told Ilgan Sports, “I am currently in the U.S. due to health reasons,” adding, “If I need to undergo police investigation in the future, I will return to Korea immediately.”
