A Korean legal YouTuber shared a stark assessment of Danielle’s situation following her removal from NewJeans, arguing that her only remaining path to recovery is to sever ties with Min Hee Jin and cooperate with her agency.
On January 2, the YouTube channel Korea Lawyer uploaded a video titled 'From Now On, Kill Each Other! Danielle vs. Birth Mother vs. Adoptive Mother (ADOR’s Divide-and-Conquer Strategy).' In the video, the lawyer offered a harsh critique of Danielle’s recent actions and outlined what she believes she must do next to avoid severe legal consequences.
The lawyer stated that Danielle’s public behavior showed a lack of awareness of the seriousness of the situation. “Volunteering is good, but not now. This is not the time for that,” she said. “The NewJeans members unilaterally broke their contracts and caused financial damage to the company. The company’s shareholders suffered losses. It makes no sense to cause intentional harm to others and then engage in volunteer work. You need the ability to read the situation.”
She continued, “At the very least, she should understand that this is a time to restrain herself and act solemnly. There are people being harmed by their actions. She should feel remorse. Instead of showing self-reflection, going around saying ‘I’m happy’ only escalates the case.”
The lawyer then addressed what she believes Danielle must do moving forward. According to her, Danielle should acknowledge her wrongdoing and distance herself from Min Hee Jin. “She needs to admit her mistake and say, ‘I ended up like this because I was gaslighted by Min Hee Jin,’ and escape that relationship,” she said. “This has become a joint illegal act, meaning she may be liable to compensate ADOR. Internally, more responsibility must be placed on Min Hee Jin.”
She emphasized that Danielle must take a confrontational stance against the former ADOR CEO. “She has to go to war with Min Hee Jin. Even now, she must cut ties cleanly, like cutting with a knife. She cannot be on Min Hee Jin’s side. If she is, she cannot recover,” she warned. “She must actively claim and prove that she was gaslighted. One more mistake and it’s over. She has to cooperate with the company now.”
The lawyer concluded by stressing that Danielle’s position must clearly diverge from Min Hee Jin’s. “If this is to end through settlement with the company, Danielle has to attack Min Hee Jin,” she said.
Meanwhile, last month ADOR announced the termination of Danielle’s exclusive contract, stating, “We have determined that it is difficult to continue working with Danielle as a NewJeans member and ADOR artist, and have notified her today of the termination of her exclusive contract.”
ADOR added that it plans to pursue legal responsibility against one member of Danielle’s family and former CEO Min Hee Jin, stating that they bear significant responsibility for causing the current dispute and for delays in NewJeans’ departure and potential return.
