G-Dragon’s brief social media interaction has once again captured public attention.
On January 11, online communities reported that G-Dragon momentarily clicked “Like” on a video featuring BLACKPINK’s Jennie, only to remove it shortly afterward. The video was an official highlight clip of Jennie’s performance at the 40th Golden Disc Awards, held on January 10 at the Taipei Dome in Taiwan.
The footage showcased Jennie’s solo stage, featuring a powerful sequence of “Filter,” “Damn Right (feat. Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis),” and “like JENNIE,” reaffirming her presence as a solo artist. Shortly after the video was posted, fans noticed that G-Dragon’s account had liked the clip, before the interaction disappeared, prompting widespread discussion online.
Screenshots of the moment circulated quickly, with fans speculating on whether the action was accidental or intentional. While no official explanation has been given, the brief interaction alone was enough to reignite conversation among fans.
G-Dragon and Jennie previously worked under the same agency, YG Entertainment, and have been linked by dating rumors in the past. In 2021, reports surfaced claiming Jennie had been seen visiting G-Dragon’s residence, though the agency declined to comment, citing the artists’ private lives.
The timing of the incident drew further attention as both artists were celebrated at the same awards ceremony. G-Dragon won the Digital Song Grand Prize for “HOME SWEET HOME,” delivering his acceptance speech via video due to scheduling conflicts, during which he hinted at future activities with BIGBANG. Jennie also enjoyed a successful night, earning three awards including Artist of the Year for her first full-length solo album “Ruby.”
