"K-Pop Demon Hunters” has claimed the Best Animated Feature award at the Golden Globe Awards, securing its second win of the night.
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards were held on January 12 (Korea time) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. During the ceremony, “K-Pop Demon Hunters” was announced as the winner of Best Animated Feature, standing out among strong contenders such as “Elio,” “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle – The Movie,” and “Zootopia 2.”
The win further solidified the film’s global popularity. Earlier in the ceremony, “K-Pop Demon Hunters” had already taken home the award for Best Original Song with its OST track “Golden,” making it a double winner at this year’s Golden Globes.
While the film was also nominated in the Box Office Achievement category, the award ultimately went to “Sinners: Genesis,” preventing a third win.
“K-Pop Demon Hunters,” which tells the story of a K-pop girl group who secretly battle evil spirits, has become a global sensation. Released on Netflix in June last year, the animated film surpassed 300 million views worldwide, earning its place as the most-watched film in Netflix history.
Directed by Korean Canadian filmmaker Maggie Kang, the film’s success at the Golden Globes highlights the growing global influence of K-pop-inspired storytelling and animation.
