
F.T. Island member Choi Minhwan briefly lost consciousness during a live performance.
On January 31, Choi Minhwan suddenly collapsed while on stage at 'FIRST MUSIC STATION,' held at Kintex in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. Following the unexpected incident, substitute personnel were quickly deployed, allowing the performance to continue as scheduled in preparation for emergency situations.
His agency later addressed the situation in a phone call with local media, stating, “During the performance, he experienced temporary dehydration symptoms and received treatment from medical staff on site. There do not appear to be any major health concerns. After returning home, he is currently resting and focusing on stability.”
F.T. Island debuted in 2007 under FNC Entertainment and went on to release numerous hit songs, including “Love Sick,” “Thunder,” “Until You Come Back,” “After Love,” “I Hope,” “Love Love Love,” “Severely,” “PRAY,” and “Wind.”
Beyond South Korea, the band has also built a strong presence in Japan, even reaching No. 1 on the Oricon charts. In addition to group promotions, the members have pursued individual activities across dramas, musicals, and variety shows, steadily expanding their personal careers. The group recently renewed their contracts with FNC Entertainment.
