The agency explained that she has been receiving medical examinations and treatment for long-term, repeated epistaxis (nosebleeds). Following medical advice that surgical intervention could no longer be postponed, she underwent ENT surgery.
Currently, Cha Joo Young is in a phase requiring recovery and close clinical observation. Ghost Studio stated that her participation in official schedules, including promotional activities for her upcoming work, would be difficult during this recovery period. The agency expressed apologies for the inevitable schedule adjustments and added that they would provide full support for her stable recovery to ensure she can return to the public in good health after sufficient treatment.
Meanwhile, Cha Joo Young is set to meet audiences through the film 'Sister', which is scheduled for release on January 28. 'Sister' is a kidnapping thriller that explores the hidden truths between Haeran, played by Jung Ji So, who kidnaps her sister for a large ransom; Taesu, played by Lee Soo Hyuk, who planned the operation; and the hostage Sojin, played by Cha Joo Young.
