Lee Hyun of Baby DONT Cry has been chosen as the newest MC of SBS’s weekly music show ‘Inkigayo’.
On January 5, SBS announced, “Lee Hyun, the leader of P NATION’s first girl group Baby DONT Cry, will be joining ‘Inkigayo’ as a new MC.” Lee Hyun will host the program under a three-MC system alongside existing MCs Shinyu of TWS and EJ of &TEAM.
Known for her solid vocal skills and strong stage presence, Lee Hyun leads her team as both its core member and visual center. She first drew attention as “Little IU” after appearing on SBS’s ‘Fantastic Duo’ and later made her official debut in June 2024 as the leader of Baby DONT Cry. In November last year, the group released their second digital single ‘I DONT CARE,’ showcasing a more mature side and further strengthening their presence.
Lee Hyun previously served as a special MC on ‘Inkigayo’ in July and November last year, earning praise for her stable hosting skills and quick-witted reactions during live broadcasts. Her performance left a strong impression, leading to her official appointment as a fixed MC.
Sharing her thoughts, Lee Hyun said, “I’m so happy and excited to become an MC on ‘Inkigayo,’ a music show I’ve dreamed of hosting even before my debut. I first appeared on television through SBS’s ‘Fantastic Duo,’ so it feels even more meaningful to now greet viewers as an MC on another SBS program.”
She added, “I sincerely thank the production team for trusting me with this precious opportunity. I’ll do my best to deliver positive energy every week to viewers and fellow artists with a strong sense of responsibility.”
The new era of ‘Inkigayo’ featuring Lee Hyun will premiere live on Sunday, January 11, at 3:10 PM KST.
