Broadcaster Park Narae has filed additional criminal charges against her former managers, escalating an already intense legal dispute.
On December 22, Park submitted a complaint on December 20 to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul against her former managers, identified as A and B, on charges of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
Previously, Park had accused the two of blackmail and announced plans to pursue embezzlement charges, stating that one former manager established a private corporation through which agency fees were allegedly siphoned off. Park’s side claimed this led to the misappropriation of company funds.
In response, A and B filed for provisional seizure of Park’s real estate on December 3 and signaled their intent to seek damages. They alleged that Park committed multiple illegal acts, including special injury, workplace harassment, sexual harassment, proxy prescriptions, and delayed payment of personal expenses.
Park’s legal team countered these claims, stating that after receiving severance pay, the former managers demanded an additional amount equivalent to 10 percent of the company’s previous year’s sales, with the requested sum eventually increasing to several billion won.
Following Park’s complaint, A and B also filed criminal charges against her, accusing her of special injury, defamation through false information, and violations of the Information and Communications Network Act. They further reported Park for alleged embezzlement of company funds under the same economic crimes law.
Adding to the controversy, Park recently faced allegations related to illegal medical practices after reports surfaced that she received IV injections from a so-called "Injection Aunt.” Park’s side clarified that the individual was believed to be a licensed medical professional.
Meanwhile, both Park Narae and her former managers have completed their respective complainant investigations with the police.
