NCT WISH’s song “Same Sky” has been confirmed as the insert track for the Japanese drama 'Kimbap & Onigiri.'
Airing on Japan’s TV TOKYO as part of the Drama Premier 23 lineup, 'Kimbap & Onigiri' tells a heartfelt romance between two people navigating the cultural and value differences between Japan and Korea, yet irresistibly drawn to each other.
NCT WISH, a globally active K-pop group with a presence in Japan, Korea, and the U.S., will participate in the drama’s soundtrack. Their song “Same Sky” is a retro pop R&B track with warm sounds that convey mutual support. The track naturally blends into the sweet everyday moments of the protagonists—Taiga Hase (played by Eiji Akaso) and Park Rin (played by Kang Hye Won)—enhancing the drama’s emotional immersion.
“Same Sky,” performed by NCT WISH, will be featured starting from episode 3, scheduled to air on Monday, January 26, 2026. The group shared their excitement: “We hope that the lively and refreshing vibes of ‘Same Sky’ can help bring out the characters’ emotions. We also hope viewers enjoy 'Kimbap & Onigiri' and have a wonderful start to their week.”

Alongside the announcement of NCT WISH’s participation, stills from episode 1 featuring Eiji Akaso and Kang Hye Won were released. The images include a night subway scene illuminated by dazzling lights, heart-fluttering moments as the two face each other, and scenes in a small Japanese restaurant, building anticipation for the episode.
Eiji Akaso plays Taiga Hase, a former marathon prodigy whose promising future is disrupted by setbacks, leading him into a period of aimless days until he falls in love with Park Rin. Kang Hye Won portrays Park Rin, a graduate student studying in Japan, who pursues her dreams despite life’s hardships, offering a nuanced portrayal of ambition and resilience.
'Kimbap & Onigiri' will premiere on TV TOKYO on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11:06 PM and will also be available for exclusive global streaming on Netflix.
