Shim Hyung Tak’s 9-month-old son, Haru, has been selected as an advertising model for the first time in his life.
On the November 26th episode of KBS 2TV ‘The Return of Superman’, Shim Hyung Tak shared daily life moments with Haru alongside new MCs Kim Jong Min and RalRal.
Dressed as a little bunny, Haru tried out his first toy walker. Shim Hyung Tak explained, “This was given to Haru by Uncle Jeong Seong Ho for when he was born.”
He added, “He told me, ‘I also received this from Do Kyung Wan,’” revealing that the toy has been passed down from Jang Yoon Jung and Do Kyung Wan’s second child, Hayoung. Shim Hyung Tak remarked that the toy has a long history and even noted that parts, like the receiver, had gone missing over time.
Haru struggled at first to take his steps and expressed frustration with loud cries. Shim Hyung Tak guided him using his favorite toy, and Haru eventually began to walk in rhythm with Shim Hyung Tak, delighting everyone. Shim Hyung Tak expressed his affection, saying, “Once Haru learns to walk holding onto toys like this… someday he’ll run to greet me after work saying, ‘Dad!’ I’ll help him practice walking even more for that day.”
After mastering the toy walker, Haru headed to a studio for a photoshoot. Standing in the center of the set and posing with a smile, he impressed the ‘Return of Superman’ staff, who exclaimed, “What is even happening here?”
Shim Hyung Tak proudly shared, “Today, Haru is an ad model. When he appears, he steals the spotlight. I took my first ad when I was over twenty, but Haru is doing this before even turning one.”
Haru performed like a little professional during the shoot, encouraged by Shim Hyung Tak holding his favorite maracas. Shim Hyung Tak gushed, “He really smiles beautifully.”
After finishing, he added, “I was amazed by how well Haru did. In less than a year, he already showed a professional’s demeanor, something it took me over 20 years to achieve.”
The ad debut has also captured the attention of K-netizens, who expressed their admiration online: “He’s literally a doll,” “Congratulations on your ad debut, Haru,” and “A baby superstar!”
