Rowoon—formerly of SF9—will begin his mandatory active-duty military service in the Republic of Korea Army on Oct. 27, 2025 KST, following a reexamination that confirmed his fitness.
On Oct. 25, 2025 KST, Rowoon posted a brief update—“I feel refreshed. I’ll be back,”—with a photo showing a fresh buzz cut, drawing notice for maintaining his visuals even with the military trim.
Rowoon had initially been slated to enlist on July 21, 2025 KST, but the date was postponed when two-weeks-prior pre-enlistment medical rechecks were introduced for all conscripts; he received a provisional Grade-7 reexamination notice. He filed an objection in early August and, after review, received a final active-duty classification, clearing the way for his Oct. 27 entry.
On screen, Rowoon recently earned strong notices as Jang Si Yul in the Disney+ original period drama ‘The Murky Stream’, and he is set to appear in the Japanese film ‘Last Man — First Love’, scheduled to open on Dec. 24, 2025 JST.
