Actress Han So Hee sparked buzz online after pressing the “like” button on a social media post by Lee Jun Seok, leader of South Korea’s Reform Party. She later withdrew the like less than a day afterward.
On October 6, Lee Jun Seok posted on his social media to address a false rumor circulating about him. “I received reports that absurd rumors were spreading, claiming I followed obscene accounts on Instagram,” he wrote. “After checking, it turned out that certain supporters of a particular politician were continuously spreading this misinformation. When I announced that I would take legal action, one of the offenders sent me a handwritten letter of apology, admitting their wrongdoing. I decided to take that into consideration when handling the matter.”
Lee also shared the handwritten apology letter, which stated: “I sincerely apologize, Representative Lee Jun Seok, for the defamation and harm caused by my misunderstanding.” Not long after, fans noticed that Han So Hee had liked the post. The action quickly caught public attention and spread rapidly across online communities.
Netizens reacted with a mix of surprise and amusement, leaving comments such as: “How does Lee Jun Seok’s post even show up in Han So Hee’s algorithm?”, “It must have been a mistake,” “I hope it really was accidental,” “Social media truly is a waste of time,” and “Surprisingly, I’m not even surprised anymore.”
By the afternoon of October 7, about 22 hours after the incident, Han appeared to have removed the like, possibly aware of the growing attention. As of now, TV personality Park Eun Ji remains the only celebrity still liking the post.
Known for her candid online presence and frequent engagement with fans, Han So Hee once again proved how even a single click can set social media abuzz.
