Yoon Do Hyun shares update on health after cancer recovery: “Life isn’t long, so live boldly”
Yoon Do Hyun has shared a heartfelt update on his health and life philosophy following his recovery from a rare form of cancer.
On September 8th KST, the singer posted on his personal social media account, “A follow-up check-up after one year. Fortunately, there’s no problem. I’ll continue to take good care of myself until next year, even just to stay a bit healthier. To make a bit more music. If I can live like that, I’m grateful. Let’s pray for everyone’s health.”
He continued, “I increasingly feel that life isn’t long. That’s why it’s important to try what you want to do, take detours now and then, and make bold attempts to push past your limits. Sometimes you’ll fall apart, regret things, and then get back up, pull yourself together, realize, reflect, cry, and laugh. That’s what life is, isn’t it?”
Yoon Do Hyun added, “No one can be perfect. All we can do is try to become a little better. And in that process, we find where we belong—that, I think, is what life is about.”
Back in August 2023, Yoon Do Hyun publicly revealed that he had been battling a rare cancer but had recently been declared fully recovered. He had first been diagnosed in 2021 following a routine medical check-up and underwent three years of treatment.
At the time, he reflected, “It was during rehearsals for the musical ‘Gwanghwamun Sonata’—I remember it being a very hot summer in 2021—when I received the diagnosis. I was shocked. But I chose to accept it, pull myself together, and go through treatment. I went to the hospital every morning. It wasn’t easy, but I endured it.”
Now on the path of steady recovery, Yoon Do Hyun continues to inspire fans with his resilience, music, and deeply human reflections on life.
