NewJeans & ADOR fail to reach a settlement during second mediation, court to make its final decision in October

On September 11 at 1:30 PM KST, the 41st civil division of the Seoul Central District Court oversaw the second mediation session between girl group NewJeans and their management company, ADOR. The members of NewJeans did not attend the mediation session. 

Previously, the first mediation session was held on August 14 KST, but neither side agreed to a settlement. No progress was made on any settlement between the two sides during the second mediation session held on this day either; in fact, the second mediation session concluded unexpectedly in approximately 20 minutes, according to media outlet reports. 

As a result, the court will make its final decision on this case on October 30 KST.

Meanwhile, NewJeans's side maintains the position that ADOR committed a violation of their exclusive contract, thereby supplying them with justification for the one-sided termination of their contracts. ADOR, on the other hand, is of the position that the exclusive contract between NewJeans and ADOR remains valid.
