Did you know that SM Entertainment's founder Lee Soo Man debuted a new rookie boy group in China?
Known as A20 Rookies LTB (Low Teen Boys; meaning teenage boys under the age of 15), the rookie C-Pop group debuted in December of 2024 with the release of their 1st digital single, "Candy". The song is in fact a Chinese remake of the K-Pop song "Candy" by H.O.T, produced by Lee Soo Man.
The music video has recently started gaining attention after Korean netizens began to discover its existence. Many netizens, in particular, were shocked by the members' visual resemblance to other SM Entertainment idols, expressing facination over Lee Soo Man's unchanging "tastes" in K-Pop idols:
"The one at 02:26 is obviously Jang Woo Hyuk-Eunhyuk-Jisung line......"
"The baby at 03:30 is a mix of SHINee's Minho and NCT's Ryo..."
"He's out to find Jang Woo Hyuk, Kangta, Tony, and Lee Jae Won reincarnates everywhere in the world."
"Why are grandpa's senses still so alive and kicking... I see Minho, Jang Woo Hyuk, Eunhyuk, Jisung, Renjun... How in the world does he find these SM visual idols ..."
"Grandpa is itching to make another NCT with Dream + Wish vibes..."
"02:26 I thought it was Jang Woo Hyuk walking out."
"He's got the eye to do this for another 10 years."
"0:37 literally looks like he was just revealed as S.M.ROOKIES. Even his voice is so SM..."
"It felt like I was watching a panorama of all SM male idols in the company's history watching this."
"It's crazy how he finds these babies who look just like his old idol groups."
"I really hate to admit it but grandpa's taste is exactly my taste...."
"I'd believe it if someone told me that the one in blue is Jang Woo Hyuk's secret son."
