Singer IU has soared to the top of music charts with her latest digital single, “Bye, Summer,” released on September 10.
Dropped without prior notice, the track arrives as a gift-like song to fans at the tail end of summer.
The response has been explosive. “Bye, Summer” quickly entered major Korean streaming platforms, including Melon, Bugs, and Genie. It claimed the No. 1 spot on Melon’s Hot 100 and Bugs’ real-time chart.
The single is also gaining global traction. On the iTunes Worldwide Top Songs chart, it debuted at No. 47, ranking No. 1 in Taiwan and No. 2 in Hong Kong, reflecting IU’s strong international fanbase.
IU first performed “Bye, Summer” during her tour concert at Seoul World Cup Stadium in September last year. The song’s lyrical vocals and evocative mood sparked requests from fans for an official release, leading to its highly anticipated launch.
Meanwhile, IU will host a fan meetup titled “Bye, Summer” at KSPO Dome on September 13–14, where she is expected to celebrate the release with fans.
