Recently, IU caught attention for her slightly fuller appearance compared to before.
On September 30 KST, her personal YouTube channel uploaded a video titled, “IU TV Jinny Cheek Season 2025 IU FAN MEET UP 'Bye, Summer' Rehearsal Behind the Scenes.”

In the video, IU updated fans on her recent weight gain. Looking into the camera, she lightly touched her jaw and asked with a smile, “Does my face look better?” She added, “I’ve gained some weight. Gaining a little makes it better,” showing satisfaction with her new look.
IU also mentioned the reactions of those around her, saying, “During the shoot, I gained a little, and people told me I look much prettier.”
Earlier in June, fans asked about her height on a communication platform, to which she replied, “Last year it was 163.2cm, but this year it’s 162.7cm…”
In the past, veteran actress Park Jun Geum commented, “At 158cm and 43kg, she wears the same size as IU,” drawing attention to IU’s small 44 size. However, IU’s actual height surprised many, reaching 162–163cm.
Since her debut, IU has maintained a petite frame. She previously revealed on variety shows that her weight was in the early to mid-40kg range. At one point, she became so slim that her size was considered “33 half size,” comparable to children’s clothing.
In March, during her appearance on “Pinkgego,” IU shared, “I’ve always loved sweets, and my face tends to gain weight first, so I used to diet because of facial fat. But at some point, I just didn’t want to restrict myself. My appetite decreased, and my stomach feels smaller now.”
