On September 25, Mnet’s survival program 'Boys II Planet' aired its long-awaited finale, where the final 16 contestants prepared for their last stage.
After showcasing the mid-stage evaluation video of the top 16, host Kim Jaejoong announced, “For the first time, we will reveal the debut group name.”
He continued, “The name that will unite eight boys as one team is the official debut name for the final lineup. It is Alpha Drive One, or ALD1.”
Explaining the meaning behind the name, Kim Jaejoong added, “It represents one official team with the drive, passion, and determination to become the very best. Please look forward to the journey of growth and breakthrough that Boys II Planet’s official group will create.”
Master Lim Hanbyul also praised the announcement, saying, “Alpha Drive One is a shockingly great name. Whoever debuts as ALD1, I hope they drive K-pop forward across the world.”
