Veteran actor Kim Kap Soo shares heartwarming encounter with BTS’s Jin: “He was so polite, I became a fan”
Veteran South Korean actor Kim Kap Soo recently opened up about a touching encounter with BTS’s Jin, which ultimately led him to join the group’s official fan club.
On the August 1 KST episode of the YouTube show “Zzanbro Shin Dong Yup,” Kim appeared as a guest and shared his admiration for BTS, revealing, “They’re amazing. I travel abroad often, so I can’t follow them everywhere, but I truly admire them.”
He then surprised viewers by recalling a memorable moment when he unknowingly met Jin in person. “I was eating alone at a restaurant,” Kim began, “and a middle-aged woman recognized me and greeted me politely. A young man sitting with her then stood up and introduced himself, saying, ‘I’m Jin from BTS.’”
At the time, Kim Kap Soo admitted he wasn’t aware of what “BTS” stood for. “I found out only after I had finished eating,” he said with a laugh. Touched by Jin’s manners and humility, Kim also recalled saying to Jin’s mother, “You must be so proud to have such a fine son,” and offered Jin some kind words: “Keep working hard.”
The warm and respectful demeanor Jin displayed during the encounter left a lasting impression. “He was very polite and well-raised,” Kim recalled, adding that the experience moved him so deeply that he ended up signing up for ARMY membership, joining BTS’s official paid fan club.
