ILLIT captivates Japanese fans with debut single ‘Toki Yo Tomare’ and sold-out fan concert in Osaka

K-pop girl group ILLIT successfully marked their official Japanese debut, connecting with fans through a heartwarming showcase and an upcoming sold-out fan concert.

On August 1 KST, the group held a showcase in Tokyo to celebrate the release of their first Japanese single “Toki Yo Tomare” (時よ止まれ). The event drew over 550 lucky fans, selected via prior lottery, as well as a large number of media outlets, highlighting ILLIT’s growing popularity. The showcase was also live-streamed on YouTube and TikTok, attracting a global audience of approximately 300,000 viewers.

ILLIT kicked off the event with the bubbly pre-release track “Topping,” lighting up the venue with playful choreography and an addictive hook—“Top Top Topping.” The cheerful atmosphere seamlessly transitioned into the group’s title track “Toki Yo Tomare,” a vibrant disco-pop anthem packed with rhythmic beats and spell-like lyrics. The performance, paired with bright and dynamic choreography, showcased ILLIT’s signature freshness and youthful charm.

Particularly memorable was the “clock hand” dance move, which creatively emphasized the song’s title phrase, “time, please stop,” drawing inspiration from the viral hand gesture of their debut track “Magnetic.”

During the event, the members expressed their gratitude in Japanese:

“We’re so happy to meet our fans, GLLIT, up close on such a special day. We’re excited to grow closer with our Japanese fans and will continue to work hard so more people can discover ILLIT,” they shared.

They added, “We hope to be artists who bring positive energy to GLLIT. Please continue to watch over our growth with warmth.”

The debut title “Toki Yo Tomare” has already seen strong reception, soaring to #1 on AWA Music’s real-time rising chart and earning the #5 spot on YouTube’s worldwide music video trending list. The single, which captures the dazzling moments of youth that one wishes would never end, features four trend-forward, addictive tracks. The physical album will be released on August 3.

Adding to the excitement, ILLIT is set to hold their first fan concert in Japan, “2025 ILLIT GLITTER DAY IN JAPAN,” on August 3–4 at Osaka-Jo Hall. All tickets—including general seating, restricted-view seats, and standing zones—have completely sold out, a clear indicator of the group’s rising star power in Japan.
