
The Korean TV and film industry is seeing a renaissance of the ‘Tae-Hye-Ji-Son’ era actresses, namely Kim Tae Hee, Song Hye Kyo, Jun Ji Hyun, and Son Ye Jin.

Known for their stellar beauty, the four actresses dominated the hearts of many around the turn of the millennium. Fast forward to 2025, they are locked and loaded with major projects slated to return to the small and big screens.

Son Ye Jin is on the rise as the lead of the highly anticipated film ‘No Other Choice’ by director and maestro Park Chan Wook, co-starring Lee Byung Hun.

The black comedy thriller will be competing in various film festivals, such as the ‘30th Busan International Film Festival’ on September 17, and the ‘82nd Venice International Film Festival’ on August 29, where it is nominated for the ‘Golden Lion’. Her previous project was the 2022 ‘Thirty-Nine’, a slice-of-life series co-starring Jeon Mi Do and Kim Ji Hyun.

Jun Ji Hyun is returning with Disney+’s ‘Tempest’, set to premiere globally on September 10.

Co-starring actor Kang Dong Won, the spy romance series has created much buzz with the collaboration of the two gorgeous superstars. This marks her return after four years, with her last work being the 2021 thriller series ‘Jirisan’, co-starring Ju Ji Hoon.

Kim Tae Hee most recently attended the New York world premiere for the Prime Video original series ‘Butterfly’, helmed by Daniel Dae Kim.

All six episodes was released on August 13, 2025, marking Kim Tae Hee’s return since the 2023 ‘Lies Hidden in My Garden’ with Lim Ji Yeon. It is also her first venture into Hollywood.

Song Hye Kyo, the most prolific among the four, most recently greeted audiences with the 2025 thriller film ‘Dark Nuns’, a spin-off of the 2015 hit movie ‘The Priests’. Her upcoming project, Netflix’s ‘Show Business’ (working title), is currently in production, revolving around the Korean entertainment industry in the ‘60s and ‘80s.

This marks her reunion with writer Noh Hee Gyoung since the 2013 ‘That Winter, the Wind Blows’. Slated for release in 2026, the series has garnered much attention since the announcement of its star-studded cast featuring Song Hye Kyo, Gong Yoo, Lee Ha Nee, Cha Seung Won, and Kim Seol Hyun.
