Actress Lee Si Young has issued an apology after being criticized for her behavior at a restaurant in the United States.
On August 10, Lee Si Young shared a video on her social media showing a fun camping trip with her son, along with a message addressing the controversy over her alleged poor manners in a previous post.
In addition to mentioning that she had found a great camping spot with space to play soccer, Lee Si Young wrote with a series of playful emojis: "I always check to make sure there’s nothing wrong before uploading photos or videos to my feed, but it seems I still make mistakes," adding, "I sincerely apologize to those who felt uncomfortable because of my last video. I will be more careful in the future."
While pregnant with her second child, Lee Si Young has been sharing updates on social media about spending a month in the United States with her son.
On August 6, she uploaded a video of herself dining at a restaurant on Long Island Beach. In the footage, her son, Jung Yoon, did not remain seated in his chair but moved around while eating, and the faces of nearby foreigners were left unblurred, sparking criticism. One person caught on camera appeared distracted by the movement of the camera and Lee Si Young’s son, giving the impression they were being disturbed.
The video has since been removed.
Lee Si Young married in September 2017 and welcomed her son in January the following year. Earlier this year, she revealed that she had divorced after eight years of marriage. She also drew attention recently for announcing her second pregnancy through IVF, but faced criticism for becoming pregnant without her ex-husband’s consent during the process.
Despite the apology, netizens continue to call out the actress's behavior, saying her mention of "mistakes" in the apology misses the point, as the issue was not about the video itself but her general conduct at the restaurant.
