The new host of KBS's music program 'The Seasons' has been revealed in a surprise announcement.
On August 10, after wrapping up the final stage of the '2025 10CM Solo Concert '5.0',' singer 10CM (Kwon Jeong Yeol) shocked the audience with an unexpected reveal.
He said: "I’m the next MC following 'Park Bo Gum's Cantabile.' I’m the 8th MC of 'The Seasons,' 10CM. I really wanted to tell you all here first."
Expressing his gratitude to fans, the singer added: "Have I really done anything? You all made this happen for me. I’m so grateful."
The audience erupted into cheers almost instantly, delighted that Kwon Jeong Yeol’s microphone will now carry not only his singing, but also his conversations.
'The Seasons' is KBS’s signature late-night music talk show, which began in 2023 with 'Jay Park's Drive' and has since featured 'Choi Jung Hoon's Night Park,' 'AKMU's Long Day Long Night,' 'Lee Hyori's Red Carpet,' 'Zico's Artist,' 'Lee Young Ji's Rainbow,' and 'Park Bo Gum's Cantabile,' with each season led by a different MC who engages in music discussions with guest singers.
10CM will be the 8th baton-holder in this relay, and with his signature wit and relaxed charm, he is expected to bring a fresh atmosphere to the show.
Meanwhile, netizens are speculating about the title of the new season featuring 10CM as host, as 'The Seasons' traditionally follows a four-syllable phrase (based on Korean pronunciation) after the host's name.
They were also surprised that the host announcement didn’t take place at a press conference, but right on stage during his solo concert at Seoul Olympic Park Handball Stadium.
In related news, 10CM’s music career remains in full swing. On January 30, the group released their 5th full-length album '5.0,' their first in about 7 years and 11 months. The concert featured performances celebrating the album release, with the surprise 'MC debut' announcement making it an unforgettable day for fans.
