Shinji and Bbaekga speak out about public backlash and rumors surrounding fiancé Moon Won.
On the July 9th KST broadcast of KBS CoolFM’s 'Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show', Koyote members Shinji and Bbaekga appeared as guests. DJ Park began the show by saying, “This isn’t about any ‘head-on confrontation.’ We’ll do what we always do—talk about your new song. But I’ll ask what people are curious about.”
Shinji said, “So many people have expressed concern and worry. For a long time, I didn’t realize how loved I’ve been. Through everything that’s happened, I’ve come to understand that I’ve been receiving love for the past 27 years. I’m sorry for the fatigue this may have caused.”
Bbaekga added, “To be honest, it wasn’t easy watching from the sidelines. It’s something that should be celebrated, yet some people are seeing it differently, which is upsetting.”
Earlier, Bbaekga had gone viral for leaving the table mid-conversation—right when Moon Won confessed to being divorced with a child. Reflecting on the moment, he said, “One of the top YouTube comments was, ‘Hyung looked the coolest when he went to the bathroom,’” adding, “What matters is that Shinji is so loved, and Koyote is too. I’m just thankful for that. Please continue to support us.”
As for the timing of her wedding, Shinji replied, “That’s still a long way off,” and noted that she plans to coordinate with her group’s schedule to avoid conflicts. “Kim Jong Min chose that date thinking it wouldn’t be too busy, but so many things ended up overlapping unexpectedly,” she explained. “If I do get married, I’ll aim for the off-season.”
Shinji also shared her thoughts on proposals, saying, “I never thought they were necessary. And I don’t think they have to be a surprise. Renting a café and handing over flowers… it’s just too cheesy,” she laughed.
Park Myung Soo encouraged her by saying, “I trust you and your choice. I hope you show people that their concerns were unfounded by living well,” to which Shinji responded, “I’m aware of the concerns and I understand them.”
After the live broadcast, Shinji and Bbaekga headed to film an appearance on tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block'. They also teased Koyote’s upcoming comeback, saying, “We’re releasing a new song in August. You can look forward to it—we collaborated with someone quite unexpected.”
