On June 27, a new episode of Daesung’s YouTube show ZIP DAESUNG featured the co-ed K-pop group ALLDAY PROJECT. The group consists of members Annie, Tarzzan, Bailey, Woochan, and Youngseo, and joined Daesung for a variety show-style "entertainment bootcamp."
Among the group, Annie has gained significant attention for her high-profile background. She is the granddaughter of Lee Myung Hee, Chairwoman of Shinsegae Group, and the eldest daughter of Jung Yoo Kyung, President of Shinsegae Co., Ltd.
During the show, Daesung asked Annie how she managed to get her family’s permission to debut as an idol. Annie surprised viewers by revealing, "It took me 10 years to get their approval. At first, they said absolutely not. But after I kept insisting, they gave me a final deal. If I got into an Ivy League school, they would let me debut."
Annie eventually fulfilled the condition by gaining admission to Columbia University, one of the top Ivy League institutions in the United States. She later debuted as a member of ALLDAY Project under The Black Label, the agency led by renowned producer Teddy.
She also shared that her family has long enjoyed the music of YG Entertainment artists including 1TYM, Big Bang, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK. Annie recalled a family trip on a chartered bus where her mother repeatedly played the music video for Big Bang’s "Fantastic Baby" on the screen. "My mom watched it so many times that she memorized every accessory in the video," Annie said, smiling.
ZIP DAESUNG is a talk show that follows Daesung, a homebody known for his energetic personality, as he explores the outside world with a variety of guests. The program airs every Friday at 6 PM KST on Daesung’s official YouTube channel.
