IU has confirmed plans to release a new album in 2026.
On the April 4 installment of 'Pinggyego', IU and Byeon Woo Seok of the new MBC drama 'Perfect Crown' appeared as guests, joining MCs Yoo Jae Suk and Yang Se Chan.
When Yoo Jae Suk asked, "What plans do you have set for this year?", IU responded, "My drama will air soon, and then I plan to release an album and hold a concert." The captions further added that IU's solo concert is scheduled for September.
When both MCs excitedly probed her about the release date for her album, IU said, "Right when the season is about to change from summer to autumn?", suggesting late August, right before her September concert.
Hearing this, Byeon Woo Seok commented, "That's the perfect time," while Yang Se Chan asked, "Then you must have a lot of songs made already?", to which IU nodded and said, "A lot of it is completed."
Meanwhile, IU and Byeon Woo Seok's fantasy romance drama 'Perfect Crown' is scheduled to premiere on April 10 at 9:40 PM KST.
