Korean netizens' reactions
The animated film has also garnered popularity in South Korea, with viewers and fans praising its high-quality production and catchy original soundtrack. They commented:
"I recommend watching it with subtitles first since the songs are in English. The dubbing is well done, too, but getting a taste of the original isn’t bad. Also, the tiger and magpie characters are so cute. They don’t appear much, but every time they do, they stand out. I was surprised by how good the songs were."
"It’s fun. Soda Pop pop! I want to see more of the tiger. Lol."
"I haven’t watched it yet, but I’m listening to the songs because they’re so good, lol. Gonna watch it this weekend."
"Both the dubbed and subbed versions are great. The lyrics differ slightly between the dubbed version and the Korean version during performances, so it’s fun to compare, lol. The Korean dubbed lyrics are more beautiful, but the English ones have their own charm. Worth watching twice with both versions, lol."
"Gonna order good food tonight and watch it hehehe."
"It’s fascinating. Now I’m curious."
"Jinwoo, the Korean voice actor, is known for having a handsome voice and great acting skills, lol. The other voice actors are also really good."
"The tiger is too cute, especially its chubby paws."
"Just finished it. Now I’m rewatching the 'Golden' MV. It's so empowering."
"I haven’t watched the dubbed version, maybe I’ll try it too lol."
"The songs are super catchy. I keep listening to them. The movie’s rated 12+, so it’s a bit childish, but it’s fun. They did a great job incorporating Korean culture, like Seoul’s scenery (Namsan, Hanyang Fortress, Han River, etc.) and the traditional clinic scene. Jinwoo’s voice in the dub is so handsome!! Plus, it’s about friendship and self-identity, so it’s not overly childish."
"It’s fun and feels like a really well-made film. The songs are so addictive. I’ve been listening to them constantly since watching."
"It packs the essence of Korean culture and K-pop into a short runtime. The message of the movie is also clear. Making something childish yet entertaining isn’t easy, but they nailed it."
"The songs are good and the tiger + magpie are super cute."
"I’m happy it’s doing well. Hope they make a part 2..."
"I watched it out of curiosity and ended up really enjoying it, lol. Great music and solid execution."
"Same, it’s not my style either, but I was totally hooked on the tiger and magpie. The tiger is so cute."
"I’m watching it now. It’s fun and the music is great lol. Never seen a cartoon like this before."
"Finally watched it today, and it was so fun lol. It’s a bit childish, but I actually loved that about it."
