Singer Sung Si Kyung’s agency has issued a warning about a new type of scam exploiting his name and fame.
On May 14 KST, his agency SK Jaewon posted a notice on their official Instagram titled “Warning: Scam Alert.”
They explained, “Someone pretended to be from the production team of ‘Would You Eat?’ Season 2 and used the scam phone number shown in the image to make fake reservations and persuade restaurants to purchase alcohol, then demanded money.”
The agency emphasized, “Please be wary of scam calls and do not respond to any financial requests. Our ‘Would You Eat?’ team will never ask you to buy alcohol or send money.”
They also added, “If you visit a restaurant where we filmed ‘Would You Eat?’, please kindly let the owner know. We ask for your help in preventing further scams.”
This incident is part of a recent string of scams where fraudsters impersonate celebrity managers or staff to place fake group reservations at restaurants, order expensive alcohol, and disappear with the profits. Similar scams have previously targeted celebrities including Ha Jung Woo, Song Ga In, Nam Jin, Lee Soo Geun, and Namgoong Min.
