HYBE Labels has launched its official branch in China, the corporation confirmed on May 29 KST.
In anticipation of the Chinese government's lift on the ban of Korean content, which has been in place since around 2016, HYBE Labels has legally registered its very own branch in China to support HYBE artists' activities on the mainland.
HYBE China now marks the corporation's fourth overseas branch, following HYBE Japan, HYBE America, and HYBE Latin America. Meanwhile, Pledis China, previously launched by Pledis Entertainment in 2018 prior to its merger with HYBE Labels, will continue to oversee Seventeen's activities in China.
HYBE's 'Big 4' agency counterparts including SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment all currently operate their own branches in China, intended to support artists' various activities in China.
According to HYBE Labels, there are currently no plans to form or launch any new artists based in China.
